The Portugieser tells on itself fast
Two details decide whether a Portugieser clone holds up. The railway minute track around the dial edge has to be evenly divided and crisply printed, because it sits where the eye lands and any drift in spacing shows against the applied Arabic numerals. The hands are the other one: thin, longer than most people expect, leaf-shaped rather than baton. Thicken them slightly and the dial loses the open proportion that defines the model. The IW500714 is the reference we stock, 42.3mm in steel.
