What the RM references mean

Richard Mille numbering is short and structural. RM011 is the flyback chronograph family, and the suffix carries the variant: RM011-03 Titane names the case material, RM011-FM points to the Felipe Massa edition. RM018 Hommage Boucheron sits outside the chronograph line entirely. We list 31 of these, 20 of them at $1,650 and the other 11 priced by model from $1,479 to $1,690; the build cost of a curved sapphire and a fully skeletonised bridge layout does not vary much between dials.

The tonneau case is the hard part to clone. It is not round, so the crystal, caseback and gasket all curve on two axes at once. Our cases follow the original outlines at the lug tips and the crown guard, which is where a cheap copy gives itself away first.

Movement and build

These run Swiss-grade clone automatic movements with roughly 48 hours of power reserve. No original RM calibre is used and none is implied — the tourbillon references on the watches being copied are hand-finished and cost six figures. What you get is a clone calibre visible through the skeleton dial, decorated to match the visual rhythm of the original bridges.

Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Water resistance is everyday, near 50 metres — a hand wash and rain, nothing submerged. Rubber straps are fitted as they come on the originals, with the lugs integrated into the case rather than bolted on.
